Top 10 Weirdest Sea Creatures In The World

There are thousands of kinds of sea creatures in the world. Mostly we talk about cute little fishes, big dangerous whales, killer sharks and octopuses etc. But have you ever thought of the special, weird looking species? You must have also heard about some deep sea creatures that look weird so they will be also in our list.

​Starting at number 10 is the Clown Frogfish. These strange creatures are found in the waters near Indonesia.  They are experts in blending and can change their color to hide. Unlike other fishes these species don’t have scales. As for their appetite, they can eat creatures a little bigger than their body and they always swallow their prey whole.

Next on number 9 we have the Sea Pen.A graceful creature of the seafloor, this sea pen resembles a plump, old-fashioned quill pen. Its colors range from dark orange to yellow to white.These creatures glow with a bright greenish light when stimulated. Sea pens are found in the shallow waters of New Zealand. There are 14 families of different sea pens within a colony.

​Coming in at number 8 is the Blob Sculpin. These bulbous creatures are hard to spot because they are reclusive by nature. The two-foot-long fish nest on sea floors up to a mile deep off California’s coast, and the males guard the eggs until they hatch.

​On number 7, we have the Red-Lipped Batfish. These strange creatures attract prey and fins help these fish “walk” on the seafloor near the Galapagos Islands. They also have aretractable snout that they can use to get prey close to their mouths.

​After that on number 6, we have the Giant Spider-Crab. Native to Japan, these spiderlike crabs can grow up to 12 feet long. These spider crabs have large leg span within any arthropod. As they are in the water around Japan they are also known as Japanese spider crab. It is very difficult to catch because of the depth at which it is found.

​Next on number 5, we have the Giant Tube Worms. This sea creature is known as Riftia pachyptila in science. The Giant tube worms are known to be living on the floor of Pacific Ocean. The Giant tube worms were first discovered in 1977 and since then they are one of the most amazing sea creature as this can survive with zero sunlight or at even a freezingtemperature.

​Proceeding on number 4 we have the Vampire Squid. These animals have the largest eyes in any animal according to their size. These vampire squids live 10,000 feet under the surface. These are also found throughout temperature and can live too deep in the water without any issues. Vampire squids have 8 arms and 2 tentacles. 

​At number 3 we have the Leafy Sea Dragon. The fins of this amazing creature look like leave. The leave looking fins make this creature swims through the oceans. These animals are found on the southwestern coast of Australia. They slurp up their food using their long snout as a straw.

​Now we have the Kiwa at number 2. This strange creature is a kind of crab. It was discovered more recently south of Easter Island on a hydrothermal vent 5,000 feet under the surface. It has fur covering its long claws that contains bacteria to detoxify its food, and it is likely blind.

​And at last on number 1 is the Metapseudes This is something that is nothing to talk about. But why it is on first because lots of these were found in coral rubble in Western Australia,but there is nothing to say what it does or what it is as said by marine biologists. They only say that this is a strange creature.
